Heat of the Moment

All you doubters of Global Warming, I'm calling you out.
Did you read the story on Page B6 of the 12/3/10 edition of The Times Herald about 2010 on track to rank in the hottest three years ever recorded?
You would think that would be enough. You would think that the other years were in, like, 1953 and 1874.
You would think wrong.
They were in 1998 and 2005.
I'll do the math. The three hottest years -- at least since hotness could be tracked -- are all in the last dozen years.
Break out that sunblock. Get out the inhalers.
Set up Sea World in the Antarctic to watch the polar bears try to swim.
Anybody care -- or dare -- to call this a myth concocted by the mainstream media?
With a straight face?
Really?

The heat is rising from the stuff from stan the man. risa is bruce's toy and you know it. but you won't print this b/c you dont like to see other people recognize the truth and report it. risa backed off the mafia bookmakers who castor got off on probation when others would have gone to jail, then he wanted to defend them again and used her letter for defense, but the feds did the right thing and sent them to jail.

Yup. Working in dead tree media doesn't have anything to do with it. It must be my blogging.

Gordon, how do you explain this weather we are having now? Just curious.

Hey Matt, u idiot: It's not about a cold snap here, a snowstorm there. It's based on overall averages. Guessing you haven't noticed that 90-degree days in the summer are now the norm when they used to be called heat waves.

Averages, Lisa. Averages. That's what this whole blog was about. A few days over 90 used to be news. Now it's news if we get a few days under 90. It's not just about the summertime. It's an example. Then again, why waste my time trying to penetrate your thick skull. You're right, Lisa. No such thing as global warming. MSNBC made it up to steal ratings from the hate machine at Fox.

I thought Al Gore made it up to steal a Nobel Peace prize from Karl Rove.

Oh your right, Red. Because the equipment that was used to measure temperatures "since we've been recording them" is just as accurate as the equipment we use today, right? So when certain "scientists" who presumably arent' hiding the decline, report an average increase of temeperature of, what, 1.3 degrees over the past fifty years, we should definitely shut down our whole economy, because there is no WAY that the equipment that we used over a hundred or two hundred years ago could be off by that much, right?

Oh, I'm sorry Red. Here I thought you were simply resorting to insults to make your argument. At what point int he discussion were you on my level using facts? And at what point did I insult you?
