Sad Eyes

This had to be a tough week for the Republican Media Blitzkrieg — no matter what spin cycle they tried to use.

First, their loathed biracial liberal president, Barack Obama, sends "subliminal socialist messages" to America's schoolchildren. Ouch. Then, he dares to hit one out of the park when addressing Congress on health care. Some moronic congressman from South Carolina further embarrasses the right by spontaneously combusting and yelling out a brilliant "you lie" (this, from the party that fed us the "weapons of mass destruction" folly). As a result, his November opponent has gained traction. Sweet ... another seat for the good guys.

Meanwhile, Sonia Sotomayor — a Hispanic female — takes her place on the U.S. Supreme Court, where we can only hope she proves she is wiser than white males.

The cherry on top? Sept. 11 comes and Obama vows to hunt down al-Qaida. What's the world coming to? Nothing to grab on to — at all.

The world, or at least our corner of it, has clearly turned — to the left.

Nothing you can do about it, except watch the Faux News Network and keep on kidding yourselves at those laughable Tea Parties that make Star Trek conventions look like where the hip crowd hangs out.

What a laugh! You often write that it is all just a matter of perspective and you prove your point here without even trying. From where I sit, this was an embarrassing week for Obama and a good one for the real good guys. We'll never convince you and you'll never convince us. Go back and write about the Eagles. It can be the band or the team. Anything is better than your political spin.

Just goes to show how much a person really doesn't know how much they really don't know. Keep up the bad work, Gordon.
You'll be happy to know that Dick Vermeil said that.

By the time Sonya gets through she'll make sure aliens from outer space are legal. Be careful what you wish for. Dick Vermeil might have said that too.

What world are you watching, Kamikaze? The Repubs are embarrassing themselves at every turn. Like when they put there faith in Sarah Palin.

No I'm not embarrassed by SC. The Camerman caught and zeroed in on a great picture of Nancy with her dentures falling down because the fixed smile gave way. Our sleeping VP woke from his sound sleep in disbelief - after all he alone has been able to embarrass his President on quite a few occasions & functions.
Our President, Mr. Obama, has certainly embarrassed our Nation when getting involved with Mass. Police 911 calls and making it into #1 on his National To Do List, because an old College Professor and friend lost his cool and was called on it. Now, here in Philadelphia, where we need all Police and their superiors on hand at all times is on a "Federal Committee" to check out Racism in this case? Give me a break, let the states alone and please Mr. Obama, start looking at our Government and your appointed men that think anything goes. They are using our money as a BIG Piggy Bank and we now have stock in the Automotive Industry and are paying Dealers dividends ($ for clunkers) allowing them to stay in business - cost... contributions over the last 8 years to the Dem. Party/Obama Campaign.
So South Carolina - give me an address to send my contribution!

Gimme a break. All of you. Both sides just need to tone it down a notch.

Mass. had another Tea Party? I'm sorry to hear one Professor wasn't invited and then lost his kool and the Media had a friend, Mr. Obama throw a Beer Bust at the White House to discuss this earth shaking experience. At least that is what is going around the locals.

I think the "parents" and others like Limbaugh who wanted the speech censored will keep their kids from experiencing all topics of education and "stay in school and be responsible" learning experiences. And, that will be good for the real parents and teachers that try to teach children responsibility along with education. The children who did hear the President, and who will try to achieve, will be the bosses and leaders in the future and the ones kept out (some to attend a speech by Bush at a football stadium - with their hypocrite parents/politicians, etc.) will continue to be lacking in knowledge, civics, humanity and responsibility.

People who want to talk about sports players being role models need to look at themselves and become the role models that the children need to look up to, rather than leaving it to sports and the like. As Charles Barkley said... He is not a role model. Parents and grown-ups need to take heed of that!

Not too many of the President's Associates would fit in the ACORN association's job description. They have already been there and done that and are now moving on to bigger and better things.

Typical of stan to focus on acorn instead of Risa Ferman firing a Black detective who filed a suit against Montgomery County.

And was there any retraction of Margaret about the NAACP, when the TH refused to do anything in spite of a tape of the whole conversation?

Typical... of Montco and Stan's agenda in the TH

Attended a Military Convention two weeks ago and looking through the various posts I remembered one group discussing the "Tea Party"... and how they feel about looking forward instead of backward as statements were discussed about health care, environment and the wars going on now. Most seemed to feel too much talk and the inability to make sound judgment calls were the problems with the President and Congress. We all listened but since there is no right or wrong on most of these subjects...it just made for alively evening of conversation.

It looks like SC Republican hit one out of the park Gordy. All over this country people are now agreeing with him, but not the manner it was presented. Look at the column written by Martin Schram entitled "Democrats payfor ducking health insurance" interesting isn't it.

If he hit one out of the park it was because he had a network bringing in the fence for him to hit it over. In is out and upside is down. This country is sorry shape if that is a hero.

Yes, to hit one out of the park, you must know what rule book you will be using. If perhaps we only follow pages 1-5 and exclude page 6 because it gets a little sticky, then any person in the bleachers should shout "lie" and the explanation should be very evident. A rule is only as good as the people that abide by ALL the written/unwritten rules that would apply.

You should read page 6. Our President did not. Immigration/non citizens needs to be addressed pronto.
Is his Auntie still here in the USA? Her health? Who is picking up the tab? If our President needs more info on why non-citizens are draining our country - he should look at just one person and then multiply by the millions.
Health Care is covering only citizens - sorry, but we can not afford to take care of any more people!

Right On South Carolina..Many people now agree with you. The President's , is just that but needs to be taken step by step. Immigration is a great big zillion dollar problem and our President and all his men should know that. Baby Steps now will make sure we do not have very giant steps in order to bail us out down the line. The address for any contributions to our South Carolina Rep. is??
Now Gordy - let's go back to sports and you will not be embarrased and statements concerning our President should be left for another time.

I do believe maybe more signs held by our Republican Congressmen would have made a larger impact, like the Democrats' demonstrations that were done back a few years in protest about everything and anything on the capitol steps and lawn. Yes, the Booing and stumping noise also was part of this crowd. Now, where are some of these wantabees? In jail or dancing their way on the Tube. Oh, my long term memory is working overtime.
Come, let's have "Tea" at the White House - I prefer Miller Lite.

I now have two new channels, due to Posters and Gordon Glantz's misspelling, which makes life interesting especially I never use spell-check. The Channels 29 and 12 are great alternatives to locals and the regular CNN that repeats over and over news from the past days or just how they see it with a blink of the eye to make it more impressive.
Channel 12 at 7:30 is just one of the greatest that report on current happenings and have well rounded people being interviewed. Channel 29 is great, because it is controversial - why not! The brain does have to be used to sort out todays ongoings.
So Gordy - what about the "Eagles" and McNabb is he still our man or is he out of here next year??

Another way to look at Iran and how they are dealing with other countries. They are not shifting cooperation - but other countries are shifting and trying to understaning how they should approach the uranium processing - so, it is not how we, USA, and other countries feel - they (Iran) truly does not care. Watch Russia and China - If they are smiling, that is bad!

Oh if talks do not go well with Iran what are we to do?? Well, let's see maybe we could try to be tougher and then more sanctions?? Poster, you are correct - Iran could care less - Mr. Obama needs a few more advising him. He has shown so far he is not fast on his feet and that scares me.

Well we did try for the Olympics - but Chicago really got the "cold" shoulder and Rio -- YES! But the trip for our President and wife was not in vain, he spent a half hour with the American Leader of our Armed Forces that suggested to the press - if we want to win this war we need more troops - that was before he had the OK from the Decider.. another NO! No!, almost like "You Lie!".. we will see. Do you see another "Tea Party" at the White House coming on?? But of course Mr. Obama needs to get back to his Advisors and in a week or so,a decision will be made so our Leaders need to bite their tongues - you know "Wait"!! I need to get this right our Decider says. I'm really sorry he has not had time to spend on minor things like security of our country, and the two wars that were caused by 9/11 and prior incidents that were not taken care of in a timely manner. We have had 9 months and 8 years for our leaders to have an oppinion as to how to proceed and really say Mission Accomplished.

Mr. Obama vows to hunt down al-Qaida?? Really! Why then wasn't his time spent more on making sure our interest in The Wars were not first on his agenda?..Time spent and cost getting him to and from making speeches for friends running for government; helping a friend that had a tiff with a Police Officer that was doing his duty; trying to solve a case in his home state regarding a child; taking a friendly family trip to try to get the Olympics for his home state and yes a half hour stop to discuss the War - that made it an official Federal Business Trip. That trip did pan out for him - he did get
the "Peace Award", after the time deadline had passed for submitting a nominee ,but we will be able to cover that up with a little fast talking.
So, so many of us right now and one state Congressman said about the amounts being spent by government is ringing true "They are Spending us into Oblivian"!!!
Really take a good look at the cost of "Health Care" and you will agree with our Congressman from South Carolina - "You Lie",because he, our President, left out how it will cause much problems in the 55 plus generation.
Gordy - you will see destruction.
